Who has your resume?

Monday, April 16th, 2007

Times Jobs declared they are the No. 1 Jobsite.. well at least according to their calculations.

Gautam has posted full email (which I mentioned partially in my post - Recruiters; are you paying for junk resumes?). Interesting part is no one can proof that these resumes are being collected by TimesJobs. Why? -

  1. The email address used to sent this email, is from indiatimes.com email service.
  2. Your email & resume is submitted to test_action.php which is not hosted on timesjobs.com
  3. Thanks page shows Times Jobs site inside a iframe

During this whole submission you never touched down on timesjobs domain.

But this resumes submission cycle is tracked by Urchin, Komli, ozonemedia, tribalfusion, which gives a clue that it’s a well executed campaign by some big player.

No one knows who received your email and multiple resumes you submitted on this url http://times.tribalddb.co.in/landing.php?Ref_Site=jc_281×51_hp_w

So be aware of such requests to submit your resume or personal details, and make sure who is receiving your personal details.

Recruiters; are you paying for junk resumes?

After a very long duration I am kind of forced to start blogging again by this email from very famous Indian Job site, it goes like this(with spelling errors) -

If you have already submitted your resume , please do it again with your latest updates, valid contact number and new fresh working email ID. If your resume is applicable for muliple posts, please submit your biodata with sepearte email Ids and with respective resume headings or titles.

For example :
Say, if your resume is applicable for sales, marketing and business development- all three categories or posts, then please upload the same biodata with sepaerate biodata name and with seperate email ids for three times.

Please upload your resume now. Your username and password will be mailed to you for future references.

Wow! what a cool way to increase number of resumes available with the jobsite. A more interesting part is, this company is tracking how many resumes are collected by this viral e-marketing.

HR Agencies, Companies all pay to access these junk resumes without ever knowing how they are collected.
